If you’re building within three metres of a public sewer, or within one metre of a public lateral drain, you’ll need Thames Water approval before you start work. 

​Put simply, a build over agreement confirms the foundation of your new building is a sufficient distance away from the sewer or drain and access can be provided to these if required. For more information on build over agreements, please follow this link.
